The Wake Up Call Podcast

The Wake Up Call Podcast

The October 7 attacks, and rise in antisemitism that shortly followed, served as a wake up call for Jews. It should also serve as a wake up call for non-Jews, because the threat of Global Jihad applies to the entire Western world. Israel and Jews are just at the frontline of this war. The purpose of The Wake Up Call Podcast is to seek the truth through conversation. What is going on? What is the best way to approach the current rise in antisemitism? Is there a Global Jihad taking place? What is the best way to deal with it?

The Wake Up Call Podcast will feature open and truth-seeking conversation between host Israel Ellis and various guests. This will serve as a way for the world to listen into the conversations and concerns of the Jewish community and bridge the divide.

Episode 1: Conversation with Andria Spindel (CAEF) | Coming Up in April

Andria Spindel is the Executive Director of the Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation (CAEF)

Andria Spindel held the position of President and CEO of March of Dimes Canada, one of Canada’s largest charitable organizations, for over 38 years. She retired at the end of 2018, and in 2019 became the Executive Director of CAEF. Andria plays a significant role in addressing and combatting antisemitism through education, awareness, and proactive measures.

These are the questions that will frame the discussion:

  1. What is antisemitism? How do we define antisemitism? What does it mean to be an antisemite?
  2. Why do people hate Jews?
  3. Is being anti-Israel the same as being antisemitic? Is everyone who is anti-Israel also an antisemite? Is every antisemite also anti-Israel?
  4. How does antisemitism make Jews feel? Secular Jews, who are completely unaffiliated with religion, are on one end of the spectrum, right? Haredi Jews, ultra-religious Jews, are on the opposite end of the spectrum, right? How do they all feel? On the right-end, they feel like it's God's will, right? On the left-end, they intellectualize it, right? In the middle, people do something about it, right? How does it affect us differently?
  5. How should Jews deal with antisemitism? What should we do about it? What do we need to do to deal with antisemitism?
  6. Is antisemitism only about Jews?
